Security
is the most important issue Laxmi iBank faces in making Internet
Banking available for our customers. Using industry standard
security techniques ensures that your personal financial information
remains confidential. Laxmi iBank uses security technologies
such as: your personal customer number and password, encryption
and firewalls. The combination of your customer number and
password enables you to be uniquely identified to Laxmi Internet
Banking. It is your responsibility to keep your password secure.
You will also need to use a secure browser. Certain browsers
have the ability to communicate securely by encrypting the
information as it passes across the Internet. This method
of communication is called Secure Socket Layer (SSL). Laxmi
iBank requires the use of a secure browser before you connect
to Internet Banking. Additionally, your information passes
through a "firewall" which is a computer specifically designed
to keep out unauthorized users.
Your Internet Browser
How to ensure that your session is secure?
Once you've installed your Internet browser, here's how you
can check for yourself that your Internet Banking session
is secure. As you browse through the resources available on
the Internet, you'll notice that your browser's status bar
changes with the Web page you have loaded. For example, check
your Netscape browser for the security icon in the lower left
corner of the browser. Microsoft displays the icon in the
lower right corner of the browser window. You should see a
pad lock graphic either locked or unlocked like this:
You can also check the Internet page's security information
to ensure that the certificate for the site you are visiting
is authentic and valid. Refer to our Laxmi Internet Banking
Terms and Conditions for more information.
